What is a cabinetmaker?
A. Today there are two definitions for the word cabinetmaker. One is not better than the other, they are simply different:
Contemporary definition:
A woodworker who makes built-in kitchen and library cabinets.
Serves mainly the building industry.
Traditional definition:
A woodworker who makes free standing objects like chairs, tables and desks, chests of drawers, beds or virtually anything that can be made out of wood. Serves mainly the private individual or interior design trades.
