Chests of Drawers
In addition to a chest of drawers looking nice, it must operate nicely also. Drawers in period furniture slide in an out on wood runners which wear over time often causing sawdust or worse, splinters of wood to fall into the drawers. Often the cause is a previous repair in which new wood has been nailed onto the drawer bottoms. In these cases it’s only a question of time before the wood wears away to leave nail heads literally cutting a permanent groove into the piece. I am able to non-invasively and reversibly correct the rough movement of drawers so that they operate smoothly and with no further damage to the piece.
